How to transition to a new program Right now, you're probably thinking that this program looks like something you'd like to have in your school, but you have one of two concerns. Either, you already have a program by a different name and you wonder what making a change like this will do; or, you don't have a program for this age group and you don't know how to add this group.
The good news is that both of those concerns can easily be overcome. Any time you make a change to your program; there will be some people that don't like the change, especially before they understand it. The most important thing is to approach the change with a positive attitude and communicate the benefits your students will receive from the change you are making.

You will find early elementary parents are more protective and cautious of their children and the programs in which they enroll their children. they will respond better to relationship marketing techniques rather than standard advertising campaigns. Because of this, make sure you establish a good rapport with your youth leaders in your community so they will vouch for you and your program.
You can gain the approval of other child-oriented programs by having the best program for this age group and understanding the challenges and joys of working with this age group. There are many opportunities to be involved with these programs including presenting "stranger awareness" classes, teaching in daycares, speaking to PTA groups or contacting your local Department of Human Services. Remember, the best way to sell children's programs is not "sell" the program at all, just be an adult that likes kids and wants to help the community.
